How to join

The Bayside Bushwalking Club offers a wide range of bushwalking and related activities.

To become a member please follow the steps below -

  1. Go to the About BBC page and read all the sections in full to learn what the BBC has to offer and how it operates.  Also have a look at the Trip program to see what sort of walks, hikes, base camps, cycling or other trips you would like to participate in.
  2. Come along to one of our regular New Member sessions associated with Club meetings. The next session is at 7:30PM Mon, 8 Apr 2024. At this session a BBC member will explain:
    • Club procedures;
    • How to book on trips;
    • The rights and responsibilities of trip leaders and trip participants;
    • Suggested equipment;
    • Insurance associated with membership; and
    • The Club Emergency Contact System.
  3. After the session, complete a membership application form and pay by cash, cheque or EFT (no EFTPOS or credit card facilities are available). View Membership Fees here.
  4. Alternatively, you can join by:
    • Download the Membership Application form using the button below;
    • Print and complete the form;
    • Scan and email the form to info@baysidebush.org.au. If you are not able to scan it you can post it to PO Box 460, Sandringham, VIC 3191, Australia. In this case please send an email to the above address to let us know the completed form is coming by post;
    • Pay your membership fee to our bank account as shown on the membership form. View Membership Fees here; and
    • We would still encourage you to come to a New Member session at the next available opportunity.
  5. If you need any help with this, or just have a query about the Club, get in touch with us here and one of the new members team will be in touch.
  6. There is an option to walk with the club as a visitor for up to three session if you are undecided. There is a fee of $5 per walk for insurance cover.
  7. Whether or not you choose to join the BBC, you are welcome to attend the main Club meeting and have supper afterwards.
  8. After you are notified by email that your application has been processed, return to the website and request a new member log in.
  9. And remember, after you have joined the Club, you should feel free to keep in contact with our new member welcome team to resolve any questions or concerns as you become more familiar with the Club and form your own network of friends and like-minded walkers.
